About Competa
It is an inland municipality in Malaga province, located on the southern slope of Sierra de Almijara, at a distance of 51 kilometres from Malaga capital. Competa is the typical inland village of Andalucia much like Mijas Pueblo with its low white houses, its narrow old streets and its traditions. In Competa are held each year 3 important fairs: The Wine Night on August 15th, the Summer Fair in July and the Feria del Barrio. As for monuments is to be mentioned the parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion built in the early sixteenth century with a height of 30 meters.
